Pre-Inspection Checklist

Pre-Inspection Checklist

The following is a checklist outlining the responsibilities of the tenant prior to the arrival of the Southwest Bed Bug Resources team. Please be advised that the items on this checklist are critical to the accurate detection of bedbugs in your living space as well as the safety of our dog. This list will be reviewed again upon arrival.

If the property is not in a condition which will allow a proper/accurate inspection, a $50.00 walk-away fee will be assessed to the client.

Southwest Bed Bug Resources, LLC will not be able to inspect any areas that have been chemically treated within the last 2 days. If the areas were heat-treated, detection services can still be performed 24 hours post – treatment.

The following checklist MUST be strongly adhered to prior to arrival:
⦁ THERE CAN BE NO FOOD/DEBRIS ON THE FLOOR OR ON THE FURNITURE!
⦁ -This distracts the dog and makes accurate detection impossible!
⦁ NO smoking, candles, incense, perfume, or air freshener in the inspection areas for at least 2 hours prior to arrival.
⦁ Mattresses should be prepped by lifting the corners of the bedspread to inspect the mattress itself; if there is a mattress cover, please open and expose the areas of the corners as well.
⦁ Prescription and non-prescription medications need to be removed or put in an area away from the search.
⦁ Please avoid cooking or baking foods with strong odors prior to arrival, such as bacon, tuna or foods with strong spices such as garlic or curry.
⦁ Any pets, litter boxes and pet dishes/toys need to be removed to an area not involved in the inspection.
⦁ Noise and human distractions need to be minimized to create the most effective working environment for the team.
⦁ The day before our arrival pick up and clean the areas to be inspected. Please note: As part of the inspection, when there is interest in certain areas from the canine, we may be opening drawers, lifting mattresses from bed frames, and moving furniture. Please include these areas in your cleaning efforts.
⦁ THE LESS CLUTTER, THE MORE ACCURATE THE INSPECTION!

In order for Southwest Bed Bug Resources, LLC to accurately and efficiently inspect a location, we ask that socializing with the dog and handler be delayed until the inspection is complete. A consultation will take place afterwards, at which time guidance and information will be shared with the client.
